Formationsgeschichte

  • Laut AKO vom 18.07.1872 als Div.-Regt. aus der 3. Feld-Abteilung (die Großherzogl. Mecklenburg. Abtl. mit 5. & 6. schwere und leichte Batterie) und der Provisorischen Feld-Abtl. (4. schwere und leichte Batt., 2. provisorische und leichte Batt.) errichtet.
  • 24.10.1872 [2]: Die Feldartillerie-Regimenter wurden in ihrem Bestand vermehrt, und geteilt. Die Regimenter behielten ihre Provinzialbezeichnung und ihre Nummer. Dieses neu gebildete Regiment erhielt den Zusatz "Divisionsartillerie", und das andere die Bezeichnung "Korpsartillerie".
  • 19.12.1872 bzw. 23.12.1872 erneute Militärkonvention zwischen Preußen und Mecklenburg-Schwerin, bzw. Strelitz.
  • 1874 Einführung neuer Benennung (1. Abtl. Großh. Mecklenburg. Abtl. (beim FAR60) mit 1.-4. Batt.; 2. Abtl. mit 5. - 8. Batterie).
  • 07.05.1874 [2]: Die vorläufige Einteilung wurde durch AKO endgültig. Die Bezeichnungen Korpsartillerie und Divisionsartillerie entfielen. Das zweite Regiment der Brigade erhielt eine eigene Nummer Holsteinisches Feldartillerie-Regiment Nr. 24. Die Batterien wurden durchnummeriert.
  • 01.04.1881 Abgabe der 5. Batt. an Regt. Nr.9, Ersetzung derselben.
  • 01.04.1887 Stab einer III. Abtl. und eine 9. Batt. gebildet; Gliederung in drei Abteilungen zu je drei Batterien.
  • 02.10.1893 Stab einer IV. Abtl. und 10. Batt. neu gebildet, 7./9 und 8./9 als 11. und 12. übernommen, das Regt. besteht jetzt aus vier Abtl. zu je drei Batt.
  • 01.10.1899 Abgabe der I. und IV. Abtl. an das Regt. Nr.60, der 6. Batt. an Regt. Nr.45.

Die mecklenburgische Artillerie (die 1867 die III. Fuß-Abteilung der 9. Brigade war) kam 1872 zum Divisions-Regiment und gehört seit 1874 fest zum FAR24.

Die 3. Batterie war die 3. (Großherzoglich-Mecklenburgische) Batterie in Neustrelitz.

Uniformen

  • Bunte-Rock um 1900: schwarze schwedische Ärmelaufschläge mit rotem Vorstoss, weisse Schulterstücke mit roter Ziffer und roter Rundgranate.
