  • Das sächsische Res.-Inf.-Rgt. Nr. 242 (+ MG.-Zug) aufgestellt in Zittau (I. Btl. vom Ers.-Btl./Inf.-Rgt. Nr. 102), Bautzen (II. v. Ers.-Btl./Inf.-Rgt. Nr. 103) und Kamenz (III. v. Ers.-Btl.//Inf.-Rgt. Nr. 178). Der Ersatz bestand zu 75% aus Kriegsfreiwilligen.
  • 25.09.1918: I. Btl./R.I.R. Nr.242 wurde III. Btl./Inf.-Rgt. Nr. 107; II. Btl./R.I.R. Nr.242 wurde III. Btl./Inf.-Rgt. Nr.103; III. Btl./R.I.R. Nr.242 wurde bei der 24. Res.-Div. verteilt.

Feldzüge, Gefechte usw

  • 1914/18: RIR242 unterstellt der 53. Reserve-Division (Verluste: 73 Offz., ca. 2550 Uffz. und Mannschaften).
